The Outreach Mission Team is responsible for the church's activities in and for the local community. This includes understanding the needs of the local community and responding to them in keeping with Jesus' call to his disciples to serve others. The main ways we do this currently are:
The Night Shelter is run by Horsham Matters each winter from December to mid March with churches around the town providing accommodation on one night each week. The Night Shelter guests stay at our church on Saturday nights and we encourage all our church family to support this by prayer, monetary contributions or volunteering for the many roles at our church (or other venues). Each year members of our church family nominate charities for support by the church over the coming year. The charities nominated fall into three categories (local, national and international) and one is selected in each category by voting (if required). As a minimum the support for each charity comprises four collections taken after services of Holy Communion at the start of each month. Additionally, supporters of a particular charity my arrange fund-raising events such as a speaker, coffee morning, etc.
