Family and Youth Work

London Road is committed to being a church open, accessible and of support to children, families and young adults. It formally acknowledged that commitment in a five year mission statement in 2010 that identifies two emphases: Increasing the church's engagement with the under 40s, whilst building and developing existing areas of church life. Part of that commitment was to create my role of a part-time Family Worker, which started in September 2010. A part-time youth worker post is currently also being established.

There are loads of activities going on at London Road; many are detailed on this site. Take a look, there is probably something for you. However, we recognise that over the last few decades there have been some phenomenal changes in society, in the way people live, work, learn and spend their time; changes that churches cannot ignore. So, along with ongoing development of current activities, London Road is a church actively exploring and encouraging new initiatives as it seeks to be a place where the unchanging love of God and good news of Jesus are accessible to younger generations in the 21st century. It is a journey, one we would really like to welcome you to join us on.
